When the 42mm beast made it to the lunar surface on the wrist of Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong the watch withstood the pressures and forces brought upon it and thus became the first watch worn on the moon. The amazing Speedmaster we are offering here is a special Omega Speedmaster Professional 145.022-68 Transitional from 1969!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Transitional<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This special Omega Speedmaster runs on the famous and incredibly reliable cal. 861 manual wound movement made by Omega. This movement is placed inside a 42mm Speedmaster case with the shaped lugs we are used to seeing on speedmasters from this period. The amazing vintage dial and hands are the true star of the show, with the applied Omega logo serving as the crown and lending this watch its nickname \u2018Transitional\u2019. This rare sub reference marries the looks of the earlier 321 Speedmasters with the long minute indices and applied logo on the one hand, with the more modern and reliable 861 movement on the other.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Packed with vintage charm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Deep sunken sub-dials for its chronograph function and an incredible step dial where the minute track and the center of the dial meet, this watch leaves a warm feeling for every watch enthusiast! The overall condition of this watch is excellent, with fine vintage features like a Dot-over-Ninety bezel in beautiful and a nice patina in both the hands and hour markers. The case has some minor scratches and seems unpolished. This watch comes on an original Omega flatlink bracelet which is nicely long and has hardly any stretch.
