This means that unlike many of its contemporaries (including for instance the Rolex Datejust), advancing the date doesn\u2019t require turning the hands a full 24 hours. All it needs is a gentle pull of the crown. In the late 60s, this wasn\u2019t something to be taken for granted, but a real feat of engineering. Today, it still brings great user friendliness in the shorter months.
