Vintage Omega De Ville Chronograph 146.017 from 1969

The Omega De Ville line has seen many special iterations of their chronographs ever since Omega launched the De Ville line in 1967. Many subtle changes in dial layout, movements and case designs made this type of watch extremely versatile and made sure there was a beautiful chronograph for everyone in Omega`s line-up. The special Omega De Ville we are offering today is a gorgeous gold plated Omega De Ville 146.017 from 1969!

This beautiful Omega De Ville Chronograph runs on the special handwound cal. 930 made by Omega. This movement is based upon a 861 base movement which has a date function added to it. This amazing and weird movement is placed inside a 35mm gold plated case with pump pushers without crown guards and a stainless steel screwdown caseback. The dial on this watch has a nice cream color with a tachymeter scale, two subdials, black hour markers, a champagne color date and black hour and minute hands. The overall condition of this watch is excellent, with a few small spots on the dial and a small dink between the caseback and case.

OMEGA

Omega is one of the most iconic Swiss luxury watchmakers currently around. Based in Bienne, Switzerland and founded by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1848. Omega was formally known as “La Generale Watch Co.” until incorporating the name Omega in 1903, when they became Louis Brandt et Frère – Omega Watch & Co. In 1982, the company officially changed its name to Omega SA.

Notable lovers of Omega watches:

Britain’s Royal Flying Corps chose Omega watches in 1917 as its official timekeepers for its combat units, as did the U.S. Army in 1918. Omega watches were the choice of NASA and the first watch on the Moon in 1969. In addition, Omega has been the official timekeeping device of the Olympic Games since 1932. James Bond has worn it in films since 1995; other famous Omega wearers, past and present, include Buzz Aldrin, George Clooney, John F. Kennedy, Mao Zedong and Elvis Presley.
