The Omega Constellation Pie-Pan reference 2852 from 1956 is a watch that epitomizes the elegance and precision for which Omega’s Constellation series is renowned. Crafted in 18k yellow gold, this timepiece is not merely a functional object but a symbol of mid-20th-century luxury and horological excellence. In its day, these Constellations were the top of the line Omega had to offer. The Pie-Pan dial, with its distinctive faceted design and arrowhead markers, has become an iconic feature, instantly recognizable and highly coveted among collectors. The lack of a date function can actually be considered a benefit as it keeps the design of the dial as clean as it can possibly be.
A time capsule
This model, with its rare flatlink bracelet and beautifully aged patina dial, stands as a testament to Omega’s commitment to both aesthetics and mechanical innovation during the 1950s. It comes as a full set up to and including the Sterling silver box. Someone has likely received this watch as a gorgeous Christmas present, given that it was sold in Geneva in the wake of Christmas of 1959. We know the name of that someone; thanks to tastefully executed personal engraving on the caseback. Since then, this proud possession has been worn yet treasured and kept complete. Almost sixty years on, it’s now a time capsule of the superb Constellations Omega produced. At a fraction of the price of the current Omega Observatory line, it’s an easy pick, isn’t it?

What you should know:

- This watch bears a personal engraving on the case back. When executed tastefully, like in this example, we consider it a nice indication of its past.
