Description
The two-tone honeycomb dial of this Omega is a testament to the brand’s attention to detail and design innovation in the late 1940s. The intricate honeycomb texture adds depth and visual interest, while the crosshair motif introduces a sense of symmetry. Applied and very interestingly designed gold hour markers and leaf hands enhance the dial’s elegance.
The case & movement
Measuring 35mm in diameter, but with a visually larger presence on the wrist due to the sunken bezel (which I’ve rarely seen before) and large dial diameter. The 18k gold case shows a presence. The case has developed a patina over time, showing that this watch wasn’t messed with and has likely been unworn for a long period. Inside, the manual-winding caliber 371 movement showcases Omega’s engineering prowess of the period. To compliment this wonderful timepiece there is an original period correct gold plated Omega buckle on the strap.
This Omega Ref. 2677 from 1947 embodies the brand’s commitment to blending aesthetic beauty with mechanical reliability. Its distinctive dial and elegant case make it a prized piece for collectors and enthusiasts alike, offering a glimpse into the rich heritage of Omega’s watchmaking legacy.
