Vintage Omega Seamaster 2761 ´Tropical´ from 1954

Tropical dials are a much sought-after feature vintage watches can have. Often occurring when a dial gets a lot of hours in the sun, changing the color of the dial. These beautiful dials gather a warm patina evenly spread across the surface which creates a whole new look. This special Omega Seamaster 2761 from the early 50s definitely has created a whole new look! This insane Seamaster is paired with a color matching strap and certainly is something you can miss out on!

This watch was made in 1954 and runs on the sturdy cal. 420 manual wind movement. The most outstanding feature of this watch is of course the patinated dial. This two tone dial has a darker outer rim containing the hour markers which switch between applied numerals and pointed indices. The warm inner dial has a bright brown color, an applied Omega logo and the iconic Seamaster text. The 34.5mm stainless steel case has thick lugs creating a sturdy look and feel. Another special feature is on the screwdown caseback where an engraving can be found which tells us ´Bill´ got an awesome present in 1956! The condition of this watch is good, with some small scratches on the bezel and lugs. The dial has patinated greatly but has a little bright spot near the center of the dial.

What we love:

  • Amazing patina dial
  • Great matching strap to the dial

What you should know:

  • Some minor scratches on the case
  • Personal engraving on the caseback

OMEGA Seamaster

back to 1948, the birth year of the Seamaster CK 2518. The model, when released, was to be a tribute to the 100th anniversary of the company. What made the Seamaster revolutionary at the time was its use of a rubber gasket for its water resistance. The technology was the same used in submarines at that time and remains in use even today.
